Here goes...
1. The President of the United States of America folks. Some people, including major media, continue to normalize this behavior from a US president (I can’t do it).

2. Voting in California was barely underway in California on Tuesday and Trump was calling it “rigged” and his press security was echoing the sentiment without an iota of evidence.
3. Gavin Newsom, in his ongoing trolling of Trump responded like this:

3. Mike Johnson is sending republican House members home for a 46 day paid vacation so they can’t have a vote on opening the government. A forty-six day vacation. The entire issue is that Republicans don’t want to extend ACA credits that keep 46 million people on healthcare. Not going to work, taking healthcare away from millions (the only reason Democrats are holding out). All while millions of workers and military are not getting paid, millions of truly poor people are not going to get food benefits, and air travel is becoming chaotic and dangerous as we approach the Holidays. And people vote for these guys. (MSNBC, Politico, Yahoo News)
4. Donors to Trump’s ballroom have received $279 billion in federal contracts, so far. (Washington Post, Public Citizen, Yahoo Finance) Does no one understand anymore why conflicts of interests are bad? Pay to play? Quid Pro Quo?
5. A judge has ordered Trump to bring back sign language interpreters for press briefings. (Politico) Why get rid of them in the first place? Deaf people also knowing what is going on in the country was apparently too “woke” for Trump. This was an explicit part of their “anti-DEI” garbage. Trump is appealing the order by the way. Remember when Trump got rid of interpreters at the covid briefings during his first term? Trump has a long history of being disgusted by disabled people. Just ask his brother. (Time Magazine, The Guardian, USA Today).
6. Trump: "All we want is voter ID. You go to a grocery store, you have to give ID. You go to a gas station, you give ID. But for voting they want no voter ID. It's only for one reason: because they cheat." Well, someone has never been to a grocery store. Also, the accordion hands are always a tell that he’s full of bullshit.
7. Stephen Miller. This post speaks for itself.

8. The MAGA folks are pretty freaked out about Zohran Mamdani. I just think it’s weird. That’s all.
9. Trump: “We’ve lifted over 600,000 Americans off of food stamps.” That’s one way of putting it I guess.
10. Good News Alert: The National Trust for Historic Preservation filed a $10 billion lawsuit against him for violating federal environmental and national landmarks protection laws. (National Trust for Historic Preservation) Also, the company that did the demo is suing too for lack of payment (hahahahahahahaha). Look, Trump is notorious for not paying contractors. I have a hard time feeling bad for anyone that trusts him, especially one that was willing to destroy a wing of the White House(!) and without permits or permission from Congress no less! (The Guardian, NPR, ABC). According to the BBC there is a little-known exemption for the White House, which Trump of course took advantage of. Look, just because you can (and in this case it’s iffy) doesn’t mean you should. All previous presidents actually had respect for the history of the place and (importantly) didn’t act like they were there to stay.
11. The United States economy posts its worst year for layoffs since 2009, with layoffs surging 183% in October compared to September of this year. (USA Today, Fox Business). Oh and consumer confidence is at its second worse point since the tracking began in 1952.
12. Even Fox News is calling out Trump’s family corruption.
13. You guys, this is awful (mom you might want to skip this one). I hate even reporting it. The Trump Admin has set up 3 “tender age shelters (with a 4th coming soon)” for very young children and babies, taken from their parents by immigration enforcement. This is monstrous. “Doctors and lawyers who have visited the shelters in South Texas’ Rio Grande Valley said the facilities were fine, clean and safe, but the children — who have no idea where their parents are — were hysterical, crying and acting out . Many of them are under age 5, and some are so young they have not yet learned to talk.” WTF are we doing? Good Christians who are Trump supporters, where are you? There is no justification for this. Once again it is clear that they are not – as they promised – “going after the worst of the worst”. They are going after farm workers and hotel maids. More than 70% have NO CRIMINAL RECORD.
I must again talk about the dehumanization that is making all of this possible. Good Christian people (who are Trump supporters) who feel little empathy or compassion for people in this situation – who can’t seem to consider how they would feel if it were their child or grandchild was going through this – are falling for the dehumanization tactics employed by this administration (well, some people are just plain racists and because the people are brown…). Here is a great bit from Brene Brown on dehumanization. Say what you will about Brown being all “woo woo” and shit, but she is right here.
It also stems from good people not wanting to feel bad about supporting someone who would do this to children – denying it's true – minimizing – blaming the victims (or their parents)– so they don’t have to face the fact that they support the person doing it. It’s really okay to just say – oh no, this is too much. I can’t support this. But apparently that’s really hard.
15. Trump economic advisor (the one with the tantalizingly punchable face) Mick Mulvaney gleefully talks about taking away food and healthcare from the poor on Newsmax - pretending they are now getting jobs. While 1. The vast majority of people on the ACA and getting SNAP benefits ALREADY HAVE JOBS, and 2. Trump’s economy is hemorrhaging jobs! Not to mention so many employers aren’t paying living wages. No one talks about how large companies like Walmart subsidize their payroll costs by taking advantage of government benefits. Yes – tax payer dollars going to the employees of big companies so they don’t have to pay people what it actually costs to live. Can we get real about who exactly is the “welfare queen”?
16. A man collapses at a Trump press conference and Trump does this.

I should probably have a caption contest.
17. Apparently lots of the Mom’s for Liberty school board candidates, (the group most known for hating people like me and banning books) lost their elections. Here is a very good example.
18. Part of the reason MAGA are so freaked out by Mamdani’s win is that they are brainwashed about Socialism (they don’t know what it is, which is why you can scare them). It should be noted that the best countries for business in the world, according to Forbs Magazine, (Forbes, that liberal rag) are all democratic socialist countries. The US isn’t even in the top 10.
19. The Associated Press has verified that the Trump administration is murdering mostly fishermen and farmers in the Caribbean ocean, not drug runners. Again, the military can easily stop and search these boats. That used to be the policy. But Trump likes to look like a tough guy, so, yeah, just kill them. Military members with integrity are not willing to follow illegal orders. So of course, we are losing military members with integrity.
20. One year ago today from WSJ’s Terrie Warren: “Out this morning: Wages are up 4.6% from a year ago. The economy grew 2.8% , 233,000 jobs in October. This is the most robust economy in the history of the US!”. But Trump’s base, despite all evidence to the contrary, was convinced Biden tanked the economy. The economy was also the best post pandemic economy in the world. We live in strange times, when a large segment of the population lives in an entirely different news (un)reality. Ho on earth can democracy survive this?
21. Doom-scrolling break (because jeeze…)
