Here goes...
1. Holy smokes, this video. “They All Knew”

2. This is a searchable database for all 22,000(!) Epstein files just released by the Epstein estate.
Remember when House Speaker Mike Johnson claimed that Trump was not involved the Epstein crimes but was an FBI informant in the Epstein investigations, and we all laughed our asses off? Hoo boy, good times.
3. After shooting a woman who he claimed tried to ram him with her car an ICE agent bragged via text, “I fired 5 rounds and she had 7 holes. Put that in your book, boys.”
4. ICE agents are raiding workplaces (yes, places where people are WORKING, not gang hang outs) and arresting and detaining people with actual work permits. They are illegally doing these raids without warrants. Again, going after laborers, not “the worst of the worst”.
5. Remember the Chicago apartment raid? The one with Blackhawk helicopters in the middle of the night and screaming children in zip ties? Stephen Miller assured us that it was a building "filled with Tren de Agua terrorists". ProPublica is reporting not a single person who was arrested has been charged with a crime.
6. As in his first term, Trump is politicizing awarding federal disaster aid using it as a way to punish blue states.
7. Federal judges in the U.S. government caught lying in over 35 court cases — falsified records, fake declarations, and sworn statements built on fiction. (60 Minutes). This justice department lawyer was fired for refusing to lie about the Abrego Garcia case.
8. The Trump Administration’s answer to housing affordability is to 1. Blame undocumented immigrants, (also this week’s episode of Why is JD Vance Such an Asshole?) and 2. Make sure aspiring homeowners are actually renters (seriously, a 50 year mortgage? You are not a homeowner, you are a tenant), and 3. To make lenders richer.
9. The Trump Administration sent a memo during the shutdown to states demanding they stop paying out full SNAP benefits. States were threatened with financial penalties – for trying to make sure people have enough food. They were so adamant that poor people should not get the food during the shutdown that they took their case all the way to The Supreme Court. Now that’s determination. Also, I definitely think it’s time to roll out the guillotines – i.e. French Revolution style.
10. Under the heading, So Bloody Shameless it’s Embarrassing (again), Trump is pressuring the Washington Commanders to name their football stadium after him. (the extreme eyeroll I just had was almost painful). By the way the citizens of DC hate him.
11. Americans have the worst view of the country’s economy since 1951.
12. Cincinnati Children’s hospital Pastor was detained by immigration authorities for 73 days. They were trying to revoke his refugee status (he had been tortured in Egypt for dissent and fled). He is here legally. He is a chaplain. But he was Muslim I guess, so…
13. Trump on Fox: “President Xi was willing to do the rare earth thing, that's magnets. Nobody knows what a magnet is. If you don't have a magnet you don't make a car, a computer, televisions, you don't make anything. Within two years we'll have all the magnets we want. You play the magnet, I play the tariff on you.” Wut?
14. A highly decorated and respected woman, was about to be given command over the Navy Seals program, and misogynist Pete Kegseth put a stop to it.
15. Hey guess what. During shutdown negotiations there was an amendment to redirect financial support provided to Argentina not authorized by congress to extending the affordable care act tax credits through December 31, 2027, but it was voted down by Republicans. Trump’s right wing pet project Argentina? Yes! Healthcare for Americans? Um, no.
16. “I have met some very bad people, none as bad as Trump. Not one decent cell in his body.” Epstein wrote in 2017 to former Treasury Secretary Lawrence Summers. Now that is saying something Folks.
17. Elon Musk’s dad to CNN: “The USA becoming minority white will be very very bad. You want to see go dark? You want to go back to the jungle? South Africa didn’t oppress black people, we gave them work. We fed them. We never saw this (apartheid) you’re talking about.” Racists always wanting to pretend racism doesn’t exist. Apartheid was brutal. Here is a little refresher about South African Apartheid.
18. This is the best illustration of income inequality I’ve ever seen (it takes some patience but is well worth it). This is why so many Americans are giving up on capitalism. If capitalism were fair, it might work. But the wealthiest among us buy the politicians, pay for legislation, buy elections (a practice which our Supreme Court enshrined in Citizens United), all to benefit themselves. It is a myth that the super wealthy got that way by hard work. This is not to say that there are not some incredibly generous people among the wealthy (Mackenzie Scott comes to mind), but mostly, the system is rigged in their favor and most of the rest of us are one health emergency away from bankruptcy or homelessness. (Note this site is a few years old, and the disparity is even greater now.) Bernie Sanders is right.
19. Epstein claimed he gave information about Trump to the Russians. This is a good read. I’m sure Epstein was as much of a braggart as Trump, but this makes sense. “The Russia thing” was never a “hoax”.
20. Epstein had much more influence than we knew about. The files just released from the estate are jaw-dropping. It looks like he worked with Steve Bannon to smear Christine Blasey Ford during the Brett Kavanaugh confirmation hearings.
21. Here’s the White House account just blatantly lying and quickly fact-checked in “community notes”.

22. It gets better. This is an ACTUAL post from Homeland Security. I thought it had to be a parody account. No possible way this could be real, FFS. However…

23. Sheesh! Need a break? Me too. Here is a short story about a man who makes beautiful portraits out of tiny pieces of denim. Really cool. Thank goodness for art – of all kinds.
24. Or if that’s not you jam, here is Stella enjoying fall leaves.
