Here goes...
1. Massive flood in Texas where tragically, well over 130 deaths including 27 young girls at camp died (horrible). There are some legit complaints about the warning system, (informed by NWS and NOAA) failing, possibly because of the DOGE cuts. The New York Times found “nearly two-thirds” of all distress calls to FEMA from flood victims went unanswered due to staff cuts.
So of course, Kristi (Puppy Killer) Noem, 1, lied that it was because Trump is upgrading the NWS system (he isn’t) which 2, inadvertently blamed Trump for the lack of warning of the Texas floods. But then also (3) she blamed Biden for the “ancient” warning system. A three-fer. (Yahoo, NYT, Forbes)
BTW, the NWS system had been upgraded significantly between 1989 and 2000 at a cost of 4.5 billion. (National Academic Press)
Plot twist – in Kerr County, where the flooding took place (perhaps the most flood prone area of the country), FEMA and NOAA (during the Biden Admin) offered to help fund a county specific upgrade. But the county is very conservative and rejected the money because “Biden is a commie”. (Texas Tribune) No, I’m not kidding. They hate the “libs” so much that voting against their own interests is a badge of honor. 27 little girls died.
2. Kristi Noem let Texans sit in floodwaters for over 3 days before signing off on FEMA rescue help. (Reuters, CNN, The Hill)
3. But don’t worry, she had more important things to do: Kristi Noem asked “fans” to choose a favorite horseback portrait during the Texas flooding disaster. (Yahoo News, Economic Times) No, I’m not kidding. I like the one on the right.

6. Trump all of a sudden doesn’t want the Epstein list published (one has to wonder why) even though he campaigned on this very thing. His base reacted with anger and disbelief (some of them even burned their MAGA hats – oh no!!), so he responded by getting pissed at his base and calling them weak and stupid. That didn’t work, so now he is calling for the release of the files again. (ABC News, BBC)
7. This resonates (from Evan May on Threads): “Do I think every person photographed with Epstein was complicit in his crimes? No. Do I think that someone who was one of his closest friends for over a decade, photographed at parties with him, mentioned in his flight logs, named by victims as his co-defendant, said Epstein liked girls very young, bragged about walking in on teenage girls as they were changing, made pedophilic remarks about his own daughter, was found liable for sexual assault, gloated about grabbing women without consent was President when Epstein died in custody, said after Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested “I wish her well” (in his best impersonation of a mob boss), was accused by Elon Musk of being on the client list, is actively seeking to bury the conversation and not hold anyone else accountable after campaigning on the promise to release the files and stoking “deep state” conspiracy theories, has lived a life of lies to escape accountability, might be complicit? Seems worth looking into.”
8. Trump owned and operated the nation’s largest teen beauty pageant DURING the same period we’re looking at his relationship to Epstein.
9. 20 kids were playing at MacArthur Park Los Angeles. ICE, Border Patrol, 90 National Guard troops, 100+ armed agents, Humvees, and horses rolled into the park. WTAF!? No arrests. Just fear and traumatizing children. (The Guardian, NBC News)
10. Tom Homan (border czar) just threatened to flood NYC with ICE and Marines if they elect Mamdani (a Muslim) as mayor. (Yahoo News, AOL News) The federal government threatening a very big American city if they choose the “wrong” mayor.
11. Benjamin Netanyahu nominates Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize: "Coming from you, in particular, this is very meaningful," Trump says. (The Guardian, Time Magazine). Excuse me, I am about to see my breakfast – again.
12. “In April, the Trump administration canceled the Building Resilient Communities Program (BRIC), which funnels billions of dollars to states, municipalities, and tribal nations so they can prepare for future disasters. Ironically, Trump signed this program into law during his first term. But now, in the name of eliminating “waste, fraud, and abuse,” his administration has cut $750 million in new resilience funding and clawed back nearly $900 million in grant funding already promised but not yet disbursed to states for improvements like upgrading stormwater systems, performing prescribed burns, and building flood control systems.” (Mother Jones)

15. The Agriculture secretary says there will be ‘no amnesty’ for migrants working in the fields. Adults on Medicaid can replace them in workforce. (Reuters, CNN, Politico). Yes, adults on Medicaid. It’s almost as if these folks don’t even know what Medicaid is. They also seem to have zero respect for how hard the work is and the skill involved.
16. CDC’s top laboratory on sexually transmitted diseases is shut down by Trump administration. (STAT, Healio, NYT) “The lab closure removes one of the critical tools we use to protect people from drug-resistant infections at the same time our ability to prevent STIs has been set back by massive cuts and layoffs,” David C. Harvey, MSW, executive director of the National Coalition of STD Directors.
17. Donald Trump gutted NASA and America's space flight program, firing more than 2,100 employees, including over 1,800 senior employees. (Economic Times, The Guardian). The greatness of our country is being disassembled.

19. The Roadless Rule has protected 58 million acres of our wildest national forest lands from clearcutting for more than a generation. The Trump administration now wants to throw these forest protections out so the timber industry can profit from unrestrained logging. (Earth.org, WaPo)
20. The White House posted a picture of The President of the United States of America as Superman. Which is weird enough, but I thought MAGA decided the latest Superman was too “woke”.
21. For all of your MAGA uncles who are telling you that deporting people without due process was started by Bill Clinton (as if - you know - that would make it okay?), no. It wasn’t. Not even close.
