Here goes..
1. This guy is excellent. The clarity he brings to complex issues is much needed. Thank you to dear friend and subscriber Sabrina for the tip.
Also, his eyes are mesmerizing
2. The WALL STREET JOURNAL reveals that military advisers intentionally excluded Donald Trump from the command room during the recent high-stakes operation to extract a downed U.S. airman in Iran, because they feared his erratic behavior could jeopardize the mission.
DOES IT NOT SEEM LIKE THIS SHOULD BE A BIGGER STORY!?!?!?!?!?!?
3. From the New York Times: a whole lot of people are getting their news from fake, AI created pro-Trump and Israel avatars and bots (sorry about the paywall). What a world we live in.
These people are not real.

The midterms are going to be bananas.
4. The US Department of Homeland Security posted this.
I realize I have been on a bit of a tear about the separation of church and state lately. It is foundational to who we are as a country. It is also absolutely essential in a country with such a diverse population. The government favoring one religion in policy undoubtedly leads to favoring people associated with that religion in practice. It’s unavoidable. The Christians who try to claim our founders wanted a Christian nation (they didn’t) or that our government should be an arm of Christianity – relegating all other religions to second class status - are simply showing a weird kind of insecurity. The government does not have to reflect your version of Christianity, for your religion to be legitimate for you.
5. FINALLY – a news org is calling out the extreme level of insider trading and market manipulation in the Trump administration. Thank you BBC. This article does a great breakdown of it all.
Here is just one example:
“Nine days into the US-Israel war with Iran, Trump told CBS News in a phone interview that the conflict was "very complete, pretty much".
· 18:29 GMT (6:40 pm): Oil bets surge
· 19:16 GMT (7:16 pm): Trump says war is nearly complete
· 19:16–19:39 GMT (7:16 – 7:30 pm): Oil drops by 14%
The first time the public would have known about the interview was at 15:16 Eastern Time (19:16 GMT) when the reporter posted about it on X.
Oil traders reacted to this news that the conflict could end much sooner than expected by selling oil, with the price plunging 14% in minutes. This added to an earlier fall, taking the overall drop from the highest point that day to 25%.
However, market data shows a huge surge of bets were placed on the price of oil falling at 18:29 GMT (6:29 pm) - a full 47 minutes before the reporter's post.
The traders who placed those bets will have made millions of dollars from the movement in oil prices.”
And according to Trump, “The world is a casino. It is what it is.” When asked about war prediction markets and insider trading. By the way, we all know what he did to his casinos.
6. From Diana justicemustprevail47 on Threads: “Republicans just voted to hand 225,000 acres of protected American wilderness to a Chilean mining company. The copper goes to China. The acid stays in the water. Forever.” This is about mining the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness in Minnesota.
More information from NPR here.
7. Alaska Air Group lost $193 million in the first three months of 2026 as it dealt with skyrocketing jet fuel prices due to the war in Iran.
8. After normalizing horrible behavior, “both-sidesing” behavior that is not and has never been “both sides”, being in acute denial of the downward trajectory of our democracy for over 10 years, someone at the NYT has apparently seen the light.
9. Folks Hell has officially frozen over. From the (right wing) Washington Examiner: "Donald Trump is losing his mind."
Here is the thing, I’m a little irked by all of this chatter about Trump having dementia, losing his cognitive ability, exhibiting mental health issues, declining. Blah blah blah. Look, TRUMP HAS JUST ALWAYS BEEN AN AWUFUL, STUPID PERSON, WHO GLEEFULLY DESTROYS EVERYTHING HE TOUCHES.
Claiming “dementia” is making excuses for his behavior. No, the only thing happening is that he is less willing to hide his depravity. He thinks he is king – and he is - because Republicans have made him a king – never demanding any accountability for any deranged thing he does or says, and twisting themselves into pretzels making excuses for him.
Just stop. He is now and has always, always been a terrible person.
Every single time he broke institutional norms (boringly named things that actually keep our government relatively functional) with zero pushback (and often cheerleading) from Republicans has snowballed into the catastrophe we are now facing.
10. Doomscrolling break (before my head effing explodes into a billion pieces).
This woman is hilarious. I could watch her videos all day.

11. National Security Threat and Religious Fanatic, Pete Hegseth has decided soldiers don’t need the flu shot anymore. Of all the dumb………...GAHHHHHH….there are no words for how stupid these people are.

Hegseth described, “…overreaching mandates that only weaken our war-fighting capabilities.” Apalling right wing performative BS parading as concern for our soldiers.
Absolutely absurd. “weakens our capabilities”??? Again – we are living in “Upside-down Land”, hence the name of this blog.
Everyone understands that historically, disease has killed way more soldiers than combat right? That has changed over time in part because of better hygiene, and science including ……………………………………..……VACCINES!
Hegseth (in a billion ways and this is just one…) is the one “weakening” our soldiers’ “war-fighting capabilities”.
12. Remember how Trump said (over and over) that immigration would be going after “the worst of the worst”, and I keep showing you how that is utter BS since innauguration? Well, Tom Homan is now saying right out loud that they are going after people who are not even criminals. “Mass deportations are gonna continue. We're arresting a lot of non-criminals.” So, you know, ruining people’s lives for no reason other than to get Trump’s deportation numbers up.
As a reminder, Tom Homan was investigated for accepting a $50k bribe (in a paper bag – no, I am not kidding). This was RECORDED by FBI agents acting as business executives. Trump shut down the investigation (of course).
13. One year after “DOGE”, what we know is that it was and continues to be an unmitigated disaster. Hundreds of thousands of good, smart people, “doing the Lord’s work” as they say, fired. Families and communities destroyed. Millions will die around the world. On top of that Musk stole all of our Social Security data (and probably sold it).
And on top of that ,DOGE didn’t save any taxpayers money! Chaos, corruption, death and destruction, yes.
14. A dozen American scientists with ties to nuclear and space programs are ………dead or missing……..! And guess what? Several are missing in China too. What the hell is going on here? The question of course is who gains from these scientists’ demise?
15. Approximate estimates of percentages of U.S. munitions expended in Iran war, per CNN: 50% THAAD interceptors 50% Patriot interceptors 45% Precision Strike Missiles 30% Tomahawk missiles 20% Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missiles 20% Standard Missiles (SM-3 and SM-6)

Hegseth: “…most lethal, elite, unstoppable, super-duper, indomitable-abominable-snow man, righteous holy war fighting machine, something, something, blah blah, blah,…” (I’m paraphrasing)

So, what do we do? We buy more. And more. And more. The point of never-ending wars is to make a few people very rich. Our politicians are bought and paid for by these contractors and the public is easily duped using fear and hatred. Simple as that.
And this is why we can’t have nice things.
For the super-rich, “everything is free and nothing matters..”
16. Is Racism Just a Form of Stupidity? This is an older article but I just was it this week and thought, hm, I think we know the answer to the question.
17. Holy smokes.

The thing I think is most notable is that 63% OF FOX VIEWERS don't think he cares about people like them. Again - 63% of Fox viewers don't think he cares about people like them.
Folks, everyone hates him. I'm starting to feel like this whole Administration - no - the whole right wing establishment is just being propped up by the ultra rich via social media and election manipulation, with a sprinkling of right wing "news" organizations like Sinclair. Everything is fake.
They've also done a stellar job of convincing republicans that dems are - not just people who they disagree with - but actual agents of Satan. "Evil". When really we just want them all to have healthcare and a livable planet for their grandkids.
I realize that for some, that one little part about “border security” is worth all of this madness (I refer you back to the article about racism just being a sign of stupidity). But obviously most people see what a colossal shit show this is.
18. In the middle of the night the GOP used “reconciliation” to send 70 billion more of our tax-payer dollars to ICE without any Dems. ICE was already funded through September 2029 with $85 BILLION.
WHY? No really, WHY? What are they planning? Homan already told us they are “arresting non-criminals”.
19. This week – for literally no reason at all - Trump bragged about drawing a bigger crowd at his inauguration than Martain Luther King Jr. did for his “I Have a Dream” speech. Aside from the fact that that is unequivocally NOT TRUE, what the actual F%$#K is wrong with him??
20. Harry Sisson stayed up one night and tracked Trump’s social media posts.

(You've probably noticed this is one of my favorite gifs. Anyway...)
Again, I disagree with the automatic conclusion most people come to that he has dementia. He is just an awful person. So much so that he stays up all night having fun being an awful person.
If you want to cal that mental illness, okay. But it is not that he is not responsible for his actions.
21. Bonus doomscrolling break. One of Tim Conway’s best bits on The Carol Burnet Show. You haver to watch it to the end. No wonder Burnet and Corman can’t keep it together.
